TO
KNOW
To know one must know that he wants
to know.
For learning and wanting to learn
makes it so.
Without such desire, one ends up
in ire,
For he or she never will learn, know
or grow.
If you know that you know, teach
others, like school. For it is often the mark of the fool
To spout folly, jolly, but he doesn’t know What he does
not know and his ignorance shows.
It shows and it grows, from his head
to his toes.
But if you have knowledge, you don’t
squeal and crow,
You won’t get puffed up because that
you know How much there could be that you do not know
Remember this fact, so that you act
And speak with wisdom, in truth, and with tact.
To know is far better than to own
fine gold.
For lips that speak knowledge are
rare to behold. |
